Meet our paediatrician

Dr Rajitha is a skilled General Paediatrician with more than 12 years of experience in Child Health and Paediatrics. She is devoted to offering multidisciplinary care to families with children affected by complex and chronic illnesses. Rajitha is a consultant Paediatrician at Redcliffe Hospital and holds a casual Senior Medical appointment at Queensland Children's Hospital in South Brisbane. Rajitha is passionate about teaching and research-related activities.
She received most of her training in General Paediatrics and other subspecialties at Queensland Children's Hospital. Additionally, she gained experience working at Mater Mother's Hospital, Redcliffe Hospital, Redlands Hospital, Ellen Barron Family Centre, and Mackay Base Hospital during her training years. Rajitha has worked as a fellow in the Neurology Department at Queensland Children’s Hospital. During her time there, she gained valuable experience and had the opportunity to care for children with complex Neurological conditions such as epilepsy, neuromuscular problems, and cerebral palsy.
She has experience working with Child Developmental Services at Children's Health Queensland. As part of the team, she helped assess children with complex developmental issues such as ASD, ADHD, various learning problems, and Global Developmental Delay. Rajitha is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, Paediatrics and Child Health, Division. She received her initial medical degree from Calicut University in 2004, India. She completed her post-graduate training in General Paediatrics at the Institute of Child Health, Madras Medical College, India 2011. She also holds a DCH certificate from the University of Sydney.
As a parent of two children, she enjoys assisting other parents with newborns who may encounter difficulties with feeding, sleep, or medical concerns.
Besides work, she loves travelling with her family, gardening and designing.
